Back from Savannah!

When I got word that there was an opportunity to take a sugarpaste flower making class with Ron Ben-Israel, I booked the first flight out to Savannah, Georgia!!!
Minette Rushing of Custom Cakes was hosting a 3 day Master Class of Sugar Flowers taught by the famous Ron Ben-Israel. He is known for his life-like sugar flowers and stunning designs - this was not an opportunity I was about to miss!

Well I just got back from Savannah, and I had THE best time! I learned so much, the classes were beyond amazing! I hope to have the opportunity to study again with Chef Ron as not only is he an incredible teacher, he is also very funny and a wonderful person!

A Day Filled With Love

When Leslie & Mike came to me, they had a very clear vision of their wedding day. They were to be married on Valentines' Day, but they did not want to have anything cliche at their wedding - no red, no white - hearts but very subtle.
Their theme was Vintage Glamour - incorporating blue, silver, ivory and feathers! After our meeting, I came up with this glamorous cake design, which Leslie fell in love with!
4 tiers of various heights, design elements inspired by the lace detail on her gown and I incorporated the double heart brooch as a nod to Cupid. The entire cake was BananaRama covered in ivory fondant and the detail work was accented with edible silver shimmer.

These photos are courtesy of their fabulous photographer Xero Digital

Congratulations Leslie & Mike!
